Local Companies Win International Awards
Never Boring Design Associates Receive 6 Awards
Modesto, Ca – Several Modesto companies received international recognition in the 2008 Davey Awards and 2008 MarCom Awards.
The Davey Awards is an international creative competition focused exclusively on honoring outstanding work from the best small firms in the world. There were over 4,000 entries from ad agencies, design firms, in-house creative professionals and public relation firms.
Howard Training Center, the Modesto Nuts and Never Boring Design partnered to product The Inner Eye, a documentary about the Howard Training Center's innovative art program for adults with disabilities. The project received a Silver Davey Award.
"Our vision was to create a vehicle for artists who happen to have a disability to show their talents," said Claudia Miller, executive director of Howard Training Center. "The Inner Eye film has brought to life the challenges, efforts and beautiful artwork of individuals who are usually discounted and seen as unproductive."
With over 5,000 entries from around the world, the MarCom Awards recognizes outstanding achievement by marketing and communication professionals. This year, the winners ranged in size from individual communicators to media conglomerates to fortune 500 companies.
Both Yonan’s Jewlers and the City of Modesto Parks and Recreation Department received Platinum MarCom awards for outstanding projects. Gold Awards were given to the Salvation Army for its “In One Night” invitation and CSU Stanislaus for its 2006/07 Annual Report.
